Bio:

My name is Megan Chikuru and I am a tutor, academic coach and a college admissions advisor. My passion is rooted in helping all students succeed. I am committed to building great relationships with my students and I am dedicated to being a great resource for them. I spent 5 years in college taking biology classes for my degree; Bachelor of Science in Secondary Education with an emphasis in Biology. I have also taught Life Science and Biology classes for grades 9-12 for 5 years. I am currently a teacher, teaching both subjects Life Science and Biology to 9th and 10th graders. During my teaching experience, I have taken on the role of not only teaching my students, but helping them through additional tasks: tutoring, advising on career choices, as well as assisting them in discovering the way they learn best. Through these experiences, I have helped craft resumes, essays and college applications. I have tutored for close to 8 years now and I cater my lessons based on what my students need. I have tutored a variety of students including 9th grade - to college students. I created my own Biology curriculum following the NGSS standards, which are the universal standards for science classes in the United States.
